Fall Harvest !!

Hi All!

How many got a chance to get out and see the wonderful Harvest moon last week?  It occurred on the first day of Autumn and it was spectacular!  I saw a lot of acorns on the ground already - that usually means early and hard winter!  Time to get those knitting projects in line so you can snuggle in and knit the winter away!

Some of the "back-order" Noro arrived - Silk Garden Sock and Booklet #28.  Still waiting on Kochuron which will arrive in the next 2-3 weeks.  A re-order of Dream In Color Smooshy is on its way and should arrive any minute!  And, to remind everyone.....the custom Christmas colorway from Schaefer will arrive at the end of October.  If you definitely want a skein, please send me a note at Toni@appalachianyarns.com so I can make sure there are enough.  This is a one-time order.  The colorway will be done in "Heather" sock yarn.

I have finished the Rowan store sample!  It is blocking now and just needs buttons sewn on.  Photos in a day or so!  I love Rowan Big Wool !!  So wonderful to knit with!  What are you all working on??  Don't be shy!  Tell us all about your projects, the yarns you are using (and how you like those yarns) and post some photos here!

I was back in Pennsylvania last week and got a sneak preview of the new yarn store, "Gosh Yarn It"....fantastic shop and I know Jill and Ann will do very well.  I'm looking forward to knitting there when I am home again.  I also had a chance to meet up and knit with Shelly, Barb and Michelle at Panera's!  Always a fun time!  So busy and the week flies by so fast!

Happy Fall !

Hi everyone!

We sure have been busy this past month!  Many new yarns have arrived - including the beginning of our Rowan line!  I'll be working on the Rowan store sample starting tonight!  We did get in Dream In Color - Smooshy sock yarn...I know it's hard to tell because so many are sold out already!  Not to worry - A re-stock order has been placed and is on the way!  Shawl pins have also arrived!  The perfect way to set off
a beautiful shawl or sweater!

Website upgrades are complete!  Now you can click on a photo and get a quick view of the product details AND for you PayPal people - you can use your Paypal account at the checkout!  Simply choose that method of payment and in two clicks - you'll be brought to Paypal where you can use your own account to pay without having to re-type in your information!  Convenient, yes?  Navigation has been enhanced so that you are returned to your shopping section after placing an item in your cart.  I'm still working on the front page and updating the "Store Samples" section but it should all be complete shortly.

New KALs are being planned for our Ravelry group!  There's even a CAL practice session and a CAL project coming up for you crocheters!   French Press Slippers KAL will start in October as will the CAL practice session.  November brings the real CAL project, as well as another Fair Isle KAL.  Talitha Kuomi will return in December to moderate another one of her designs as a KAL!  We're already into January and February planning so stay tuned for more..................

I learned, recently, that a brand new yarn shop will be opening back home in Kingston, PA!  GoshYarnIt will open their doors on September 28th!  The shop is owned by Jill Fortinsky Schwartz and will be managed by Ann Ross (followtheyarn on Ravelry).  I'm very excited for them and look forward to visiting the shop soon!
Congratulations and Best wishes for many years of success to Jill and Ann!

On a personal note - I'm taking a couple days off and will be going home to Pennsylvania for a few days of Fall leaves, mountain air and sleeping in my own bed!  Hope you all have an enjoyable week!
